Wallace B. Chandler and family papers, 1853-1962.

Correspondence, scrapbooks, diaries, and miscellaneous items relating to three generations of the Chandler family. The main body of letters are between Mary Adelaide Smith and Wallace B. Chandler (1880 to 1883) and between Gertrude Chandler and and Harold C. Fisher (ca. 1907-1912). Mary Adelaide (Mamie) Smith graduated from St. Mary's Hall in Faribault, Minnesota, and taught there before her marriage to Wallace B. (Ted) Chandler, a railway agent at Portage, Wisconsin in 1882. Gertrude Chandler was a student at Smith College (1906-1910), while Harold Fisher was in Montana.
